Bell Ringing

We are very grateful to God for those who built St James’ church as a place for the whole village to come together to worship the true and living God.

We are also grateful for those who installed bells in the tower to call the people of Burton to worship the Lord, and to celebrate significant events.

Following the restoration of the tower in 2014-16 we would like to see the bells regularly used for these purposes.

Musicians play regularly for services. You can listen to a sample of their music below.

New musicians very welcome.

The newly formed St James Bell Ringing Team are delighted to have received this special certificate issued by HM Government and The Central Council of Church Bell Ringers recognising their participation in the "Ringing Remembers" commemorative ringing to mark the Centenary of the Armistice on 11 November 2018.

If you think you would like to learn the art of bell ringing and become a member of the St James bell ringing team, why not come along to our training sessions. These take place each Monday evening at the church between 7.30pm and 9pm. You can listen to the new team ringing in this short video.
